Interfaith Panel Calls for Nuclear Abolition, Rejecting Fatalism
An interfaith panel has issued a call for the abolition of nuclear weapons, arguing against fatalistic acceptance of their continued existence. The panel, promoted by the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), brings together religious voices urging moral responsibility and political action on disarmament. The discussion stresses that nuclear weapons are a human choice, not an inevitability, and that citizens and governments can act to eliminate them.
Why now: Renewed global concern over nuclear risks and disarmament efforts has made abolition campaigns newly prominent.
