Woman steals scratch cards, then cashes them in nearby shop
Original: tabaccheria
A 63-year-old woman in Italy was reported to police after stealing around 3,000 euros worth of scratch cards and then trying to cash her winnings at a tobacconist's shop nearby, where she was identified. The story, reported by Fanpage, has drawn attention for the obvious mistake of redeeming stolen tickets so close to the theft, making it a talking point online.
Why now: The absurdity of stealing scratch cards and immediately redeeming winnings at a nearby shop, leading to her being caught, is amusing readers.
