Colorado wolves that kill livestock harder to remove
Original: Wolves preying on livestock won’t be as easily removed
New reporting from Rocky Mountain PBS indicates wolves that prey on livestock in Colorado will not be removed as easily under current rules, a shift that is drawing attention from ranchers and wildlife advocates. The change affects how the state manages problem wolves following reintroduction, with livestock owners facing tighter limits on when lethal removal is allowed.
Why now: Reintroduced wolves in Colorado are conflicting with ranchers, and management rules are tightening.
