Ducks sign Tristan Luneau to six-year, $43.2 million extension
Original: tristan luneau
The Anaheim Ducks have signed defenceman Tristan Luneau to a six-year, $43.2 million contract extension, a striking commitment given the 21-year-old has played only 14 NHL games. The deal has drawn wide attention across hockey media, with many outlets highlighting the size of the bet on a lightly tested prospect as a sign of the rebuilding club's confidence in his potential.
Why now: The unusually large extension for a player with only 14 NHL games is surprising and is generating debate about the Ducks' strategy.
