Think Tank Mocks Energy Efficiency Group With Stagecoach Endorsement Claim
Original: The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy Endorses Stagecoaches and Horse-Drawn Wagons
A piece is circulating claiming the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy has endorsed stagecoaches and horse-drawn wagons. The claim comes from the American Enterprise Institute, whose commentary takes aim at the efficiency advocacy group's policy positions by suggesting its standards would push transport back to pre-automotive technology. The item reads as a satirical or critical broadside in ongoing debates over energy efficiency regulations rather than a genuine endorsement.
Why now: It is a pointed critique of energy efficiency advocacy, likely tied to current debates over efficiency regulations and vehicle standards.
