Corvallis workers vote to strike October 14 over pay and health care

Original: Corvallis workers vote to strike Oct. 14 over pay, health care

Workers in Corvallis, Oregon have voted to go on strike beginning October 14, citing disputes over wages and health care benefits. The strike authorization signals stalled contract negotiations between the workers and their employer. A walkout would disrupt local services and adds to a broader wave of labor actions across the United States driven by cost-of-living pressures and rising health insurance costs.

Why now: Labor disputes over pay and health care are drawing attention amid a wider wave of US strike activity.
