Professional mahjong player Shō Shiratori will share the stage with Kazunori Takizawa and the Aki Nikaidō sisters, players he admired during his high school days, as part of MONDO TV's 30th anniversary celebrations. In an interview with HOMINIS, he spoke about the appeal of the programme Mahjong Battle Royal and what it means to compete alongside figures who inspired his career.
Why now: MONDO TV's 30th anniversary and the novelty of a player facing his childhood idols have drawn mahjong fans' attention.
