Classic anime Obocchama-kun to air again in Reiwa era

The anime Obocchama-kun is reportedly set to be broadcast again in the Reiwa era, but fans worry that the character Tomodachinko may be censored or dropped because of the controversial name. Some fans argue that if the smoking cat Yani Neko could air in its day, there should be no problem, and reactions online mix nostalgia with concern over modern broadcast standards.

Why now: Fans are reacting to the surprise revival of a nostalgic anime and debating whether its dated content will be censored for modern audiences.
