Putin warns West against escalation over Kaliningrad

Original: Putin warns West not to escalate, claims concerns about Russia's Kaliningrad region

Vladimir Putin has warned Western countries not to escalate tensions, saying there are unfounded concerns surrounding Russia's Kaliningrad region, the exclave on the Baltic Sea bordered by NATO members Poland and Lithuania. The remarks add to already strained relations between Moscow and the West over the war in Ukraine, with observers watching closely for any further escalation in the strategically sensitive Baltic area.

Why now: Ongoing tensions between Russia and NATO make any Kremlin warning about the Baltic exclave region timely and alarming.
