Oregon teachers union holds back endorsement in governor's race
Original: What the Oregon Education Association’s missing endorsement says about this year’s race for governor
The Oregon Education Association, the state's largest teachers union, has not issued an endorsement in this year's race for governor, a break from its usual practice of backing candidates early. The absence is being read as a signal that the union is unenthusiastic about the field or divided internally, and could shape how other labor groups and Democratic-aligned voters line up in the contest.
Why now: The union's unusually withheld endorsement is being taken as a meaningful signal in a competitive and still-fluid gubernatorial race.
