Original: ‘We need something that moves us forward’: City Colleges of Chicago faculty and staff to strike Oct. 19
Faculty and staff at City Colleges of Chicago have announced they will go on strike on October 19, citing the need for a contract that 'moves us forward.' The labor action could disrupt classes across the college system's seven campuses, and negotiations between the union and administration are ongoing ahead of the planned walkout.
Why now: A strike at one of the nation's largest community college systems threatens classes for tens of thousands of students.
