Globo drops 9pm telenovela for first time over presidential debate
Original: programação globo
Brazilian network Globo is reshaping its programming schedule after cancelling a presidential debate. The network will not air its 9pm telenovela for the first time in its history, with the change tied to the debate's cancellation. Viewers are also following schedule updates for the novelas Quem Ama Cuida, where a character's party is postponed due to 'force majeure', and checking whether their regular shows will air as normal.
Why now: Globo's unprecedented decision to pull its 9pm telenovela and adjust schedules around the presidential debate is drawing attention in Brazil.
