Nine Palestine Action activists, part of a group known as the Instro 10, face an eight-week trial starting October 5. The defendants are accused of criminal damage, burglary or trespass, and violent disorder. Commenters note the trial follows recent cases in which jury and public access has been restricted, drawing concern about the treatment of protest-related prosecutions in Britain.
Why now: Concern over jury and public exclusion in the trial has renewed debate about the treatment of Palestine Action supporters in UK courts.
