Larry Nassar removed from Michigan sex offender registry
Original: Larry Nassar among thousands of sex offenders removed from Michigan registry
Larry Nassar, the former USA Gymnastics doctor convicted of sexually abusing hundreds of athletes, has been removed from Michigan's sex offender registry along with thousands of other offenders. The move stems from court rulings that found parts of Michigan's registry requirements unconstitutional. The decision is drawing criticism from abuse survivors and advocates who say it undermines accountability.
Why now: A court-driven mass removal from the registry includes one of America's most notorious sex offenders, prompting public backlash.
