Starfish Space has launched its first Otter spacecraft, which will inspect defunct satellites in orbit as part of NASA's $15 million SSPICY mission. The payload rode to space alongside other cargo, including Cowboy Space's first satellite and a NASA-funded probe, on a rideshare launch covered by GeekWire's Alan Boyle.

Why now: The launch marks a milestone for satellite-servicing startup Starfish Space and its NASA-backed debris-inspection mission.
