Fewer than 1% of GOP midterm ads mention Trump

Original: Less than 1% of GOP midterm ads mention Trump: What's really going on

An analysis by CNN reports that fewer than 1% of Republican campaign ads for the midterm elections mention Donald Trump, a striking figure for a former president who remains a dominant voice in the party. The finding suggests Republican candidates are deliberately steering their messaging away from Trump as they court swing voters, prompting debate about how central he will be to the party's midterm strategy.

Why now: It raises questions about whether Republicans view Trump as a liability with voters heading into the midterms.
