Tokai Kisen ordered to suspend three ships over drunken crew

Japan's transport ministry has ordered ferry operator Tokai Kisen to halt operations of three vessels, including a large ship, for 20 days from December 9, after crew members were found working under the influence of alcohol along with multiple other legal violations. It is the first such suspension order for the company. Transport Minister Ibuki called the conduct dangerous enough to cause a major accident, and Tokai Kisen's president said he would respond urgently, including over his own future.
