Aimen Dean, who joined al-Qaeda in the 1990s before defecting and spying on the group for Britain's MI6 for years, has published a memoir titled 'Nine Lives' explaining his journey. A new book review discusses why he joined, how he became disillusioned, and what his double life reveals about extremism and intelligence work.
