North Korean Soldiers Watch Film on World War II Dead
Original: North Korean Soldiers React to The Fallen of World War II
North Korean soldiers have been shown a short data-driven film, The Fallen of World War II, which visualises the human cost of the war, and their reactions have been filmed and shared widely online. The footage has drawn strong interest, as viewers rarely see ordinary North Korean military personnel responding to outside media, and the topic of wartime casualties has struck a chord with audiences globally.
Why now: The rare glimpse of North Korean soldiers reacting to Western content about World War II casualties is striking to audiences who seldom see such candid footage.
