Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has warned that Russia is planning a major action in the coming months. He suggested possibilities including a large false-flag attack by Russia on itself to justify mass mobilisation, or engineered flashpoints near Narva in Estonia, parts of Latvia, and border areas near Kaliningrad. The warning has drawn wide attention amid ongoing concern about Russian pressure on NATO's eastern flank.

Why now: Ongoing war in Ukraine and fears of Russian provocations against NATO border states make security warnings from senior officials highly topical.
