Viewers taking part in a Letterboxd-themed Friday discussion are rewatching The Devil's Advocate more than 25 years after its release. One reviewer says the 1997 legal thriller holds up well and praises Al Pacino's performance as a tour de force, while noting how differently 1990s films feel when watched now compared to first viewings. The same post also mentions Ang Lee's family dramedy Eat Drink Man Woman, the follow-up to The Wedding Banquet, suggesting a broader mood of revisiting older cinema.
Why now: A weekly film rewatch conversation is prompting nostalgic reappraisal of 1990s movies.
