Sony Unveils QSSR Upscaling for Base PS5
Original: Sony debuts QSSR upscaling, which is essentially PSSR for base PS5s. https://www. thesixthaxis.com/2026/10/02/so ny-debu
Sony has introduced QSSR, a new upscaling technology for the base PlayStation 5 that is described as a lighter version of PSSR, the AI-driven upscaling feature previously tied to the PS5 Pro. The move would bring enhanced image reconstruction to the original console, narrowing the visual gap between the standard PS5 and the Pro model. Gamers are discussing what this means for performance and whether the Pro's hardware advantage is being eroded.
Why now: Sony bringing Pro-exclusive upscaling tech to the base PS5 is big news for console owners deciding between models.
