The Eclectic Light Company has published a guide explaining how to copy macOS login keychains in a way that keeps them unlockable, rather than leaving copies that can't be opened. The article walks through the correct procedure for transferring keychain data between accounts or machines, addressing a common frustration among Mac users. It is being shared among technical and Apple-focused communities interested in Mac administration and data migration.
Why now: Mac users frequently struggle with keychain migration, so a clear method for copying login keychains that remain unlockable is practical and widely useful.
