Ukrainian forces reportedly struck two Russian oil facilities overnight: the Volgograd oil refinery and the Samara oil distribution station, with fires reported in both areas following the attacks. The strikes come as Ukraine continues targeting Russia's energy infrastructure, aiming to disrupt fuel supplies and revenues supporting Moscow's war effort.
Why now: Overnight drone or missile strikes on Russian energy infrastructure remain a significant escalation in the war and draw wide attention.
