Ukrainian fundraiser seeks jet interceptors against Shahed drones

A Ukrainian appeal is circulating asking for donations to buy another batch of prototype jet-powered interceptor drones designed to shoot down Iranian-designed Shahed attack drones. The interceptors are intended for combat trials, meaning testing under real battlefield conditions rather than in controlled tests. The request highlights Ukraine's ongoing push to field cheap counter-drone systems as Russian Shahed strikes continue nightly across the country.
Why now: Shahed drone attacks on Ukraine remain frequent, so new interception technology is drawing attention and support.
