India for First Time Offers Active Role in Ukraine Peace Brokerage
Original: For First Time, India Offers Active Role in Brokering Peace in Ukraine
India has, for the first time, offered to take an active role in brokering peace between Russia and Ukraine, according to reports from United24 Media. The move marks a notable shift for New Delhi, which has long maintained a cautious, neutral stance on the conflict while avoiding direct mediation. Observers see it as part of India's broader effort to position itself as a global diplomatic power and are watching how Moscow and Kyiv respond to the offer.
Why now: India's shift from neutrality to offering active mediation in the Ukraine war is a significant diplomatic development amid ongoing international peace efforts.
