Tesla to build over 1,000 Optimus robots a week despite hand issues
Original: Tesla to produce over 1,000 Optimus robots a week, but hand troubles keep most in testing
Tesla plans to produce more than 1,000 of its Optimus humanoid robots per week, according to a report. However, persistent problems with the robots' hands mean most units are being kept in testing rather than deployed, raising questions about how close the program is to practical, large-scale use.
Why now: Tesla's humanoid robot program is a closely watched bet, and the gap between production targets and usable hardware fuels debate about its readiness.
