EU Officials Slam Alternative to Microsoft Teams

Original: microsoft teams

European Commission staff are openly criticising the open-source messaging tool that Brussels has imposed as a replacement for Microsoft Teams, with one official reportedly calling it 'absolute sh*t'. The rollout of the in-house alternative, part of the EU's push for digital sovereignty, has met resistance from employees who find it inferior. The controversy highlights tensions between the EU's technology independence goals and staff dissatisfaction with the tools provided.

Why now: EU officials' blunt criticism of a mandated Microsoft Teams replacement has drawn attention to the bloc's digital sovereignty efforts.
