Trail Blazers fire new broadcaster over old offensive posts
Original: Trail Blazers broadcaster fired hours after hiring for past racist, sexist social media posts - The Athletic
The Portland Trail Blazers dismissed a broadcaster just hours after announcing his hiring, after past racist and sexist social media posts resurfaced. The team reversed the decision almost immediately, drawing attention to how quickly organisations can act when offensive online history comes to light on the eve of a new role.
Why now: The unusually rapid reversal, hours between hiring and firing over resurfaced offensive posts, has drawn widespread attention.
