The Philadelphia Phillies have been eliminated from the playoffs, and commentary in The Athletic argues the roster as constructed cannot win a championship. The piece calls on the organization to take dramatic action this offseason rather than run back a group that keeps falling short in October. It is the latest signal of growing frustration among fans and analysts with a talented but underachieving team.
Why now: The Phillies' latest playoff failure has prompted debate about whether the team needs major roster changes.
