Congregations Encouraged to Join Book of Life in New Jewish Year
Original: Bring Your Congregation into the Black (Book of Life) This 5787
A Jewish community publication is urging congregations to get their finances and records in order — 'into the black' — as the new Hebrew year 5787 begins. The piece ties the pun on the Book of Life, central to High Holiday liturgy, to practical steps synagogues can take in the coming year.
Why now: The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, has arrived, prompting seasonal guidance for congregations.
