Texas Braces for More Flash Flooding as Slow Storm Lingers
Original: Texas Faces More Risk of Flash Flooding From Slow-Moving Storm
A slow-moving storm is raising the risk of further flash flooding across Texas, with forecasters warning that heavy rain could once again inundate communities already hit by recent flooding. Because the system is moving slowly, rain is expected to fall over the same areas for extended periods, increasing the danger. Officials are urging residents to stay alert to warnings and avoid flooded roads.
Why now: Recent deadly flooding in Texas has left people anxious about every new storm system, so renewed flash flood warnings are drawing wide attention.
