New bar to open with human-operated robot bartenders
Original: New Bar To Debut Robot Bartenders, But They Will Be Controlled By Humans Unable To Work Outside The Home, Not AI
A new bar is set to introduce robot bartenders that serve drinks, but the machines will not run on artificial intelligence. Instead, they will be remotely controlled by people who are unable to work outside the home, allowing them to tend bar from a distance. The concept is being discussed as an unusual blend of automation and remote human labour in hospitality.
Why now: The twist that the robots are controlled by homebound workers rather than AI is drawing attention and debate about the future of service jobs.
