October 2 is National Name Your Car Day, an informal observance encouraging drivers to share the nicknames they have given their vehicles. One driver recalled naming a former Toyota Tacoma 'Pepe', citing inspiration from the 1984 adventure film Romancing the Stone. The day typically draws lighthearted anecdotes about beloved cars and the stories behind their names.
Why now: The annual observance prompts people to share their own car-naming stories.
