Coding custom Morse code notification buzzes for friends
Original: Giving friends custom text buzzes based on Morse code
A developer has built a system that gives incoming text messages from different friends unique vibration patterns based on Morse code spelling out each contact's name, allowing phone users to identify who is texting without looking at the screen. Readers are discussing the idea as a fun, practical twist on personalized notifications, with some noting it echoes the tactile simplicity of early phone vibration patterns.
Why now: The clever, nostalgic blend of Morse code and modern smartphone notifications is striking a chord with tech hobbyists online.
