Singapore driver charged over etomidate vape pods
Original: etomidate
A driver in Singapore has been charged with importing 600 vape pods containing etomidate, an anaesthetic drug. The case comes as Singapore moves to tighten controls on etomidate, which has been increasingly found in vaping products and is set to be listed as a controlled substance, raising concern over its spread among young vapers.
Why now: Singapore is cracking down on etomidate-laced vapes, making this smuggling charge part of a wider public debate on the drug.
