Inspector Generals to check compliance with new fitness standards
Original: New fitness standards will be checked in Inspector General reviews
New military fitness standards will be verified during Inspector General reviews, according to Task & Purpose. The move means units will face formal oversight to confirm they are implementing the updated physical fitness requirements correctly. It signals that leadership is treating the new standards as a compliance priority rather than guidance alone, and is watching closely how troops and commanders adapt to the changes.
Why now: The military's new fitness standards are newly in force, and tying them to Inspector General reviews signals serious enforcement scrutiny.
