France's Ministry of Culture is facing a 2.55% cut to its budget in 2027, according to a report from SceneWeb. The reduction would affect the theatre and dance sectors, which are already voicing concern about shrinking public support for the arts. Cultural professionals are warning that further tightening could hurt programming, venues and employment across the sector.
Why now: Culture professionals and theatre communities are reacting to news of another planned cut to arts funding.
