Starlink enlists community hosts to sell short-term internet passes
Original: Starlink seeks community hosts to sell hourly, weekly internet passes
SpaceX's satellite internet service Starlink is recruiting community hosts who would resell access to its network through hourly and weekly internet passes. The programme would let local hosts offer Starlink connectivity to passersby on a pay-as-you-go basis, expanding the service beyond standard monthly subscriptions and reaching users who need internet only temporarily.
Why now: Starlink is publicly expanding its business model with a new host-based short-term pass programme, which is newsworthy for the telecom industry.
