USPS to end evening mail pickups under cost-cutting plan

Original: New # USPS policy:🚨will eliminate evening mail pickups from select post offs across the C *will eventually slow pick-up

The US Postal Service is rolling out a new policy eliminating evening mail pickups from select post offices across the country. The measure is part of cost-saving efforts covering over 42% of the continental US, and critics warn it will slow pickup and delivery times for roughly 70% of zip codes. Concerns are being raised that tens of thousands of mail voters could be put at risk of delayed or missed ballots.

Why now: The policy threatens to slow mail delivery nationwide ahead of elections, raising alarms about ballot delays.
