Mansfield church asks local schools what they need

Original: First Congregational Church asks Mansfield schools one question: What do you need?

First Congregational Church in Mansfield, Ohio, has approached the city's school district with a simple question: what do you need? By asking district leaders directly rather than arriving with a fixed plan, the congregation is signalling an interest in supporting schools on their own terms, whether through volunteers, supplies or other community help. The open-ended offer has drawn attention as an example of local churches partnering with public education.

Why now: A local church making an open-ended offer of support to public schools is an unusual and positive community story.
