Ukraine's Joint Staff says the issue of identifying the bodies of fallen servicemen will be referred to the National Security and Defence Council for oversight. The move comes amid ongoing concerns about delays and difficulties in identifying the dead returned from the front, a sensitive matter for families waiting for confirmation of their relatives' fate.
Why now: Identification of fallen soldiers' bodies is a pressing wartime issue affecting many Ukrainian families, making any new institutional oversight newsworthy.
