City Colleges of Chicago Staff Set October 19 Strike Date
Original: City Colleges Staff Announce Oct. 19 Strike Date as Contract Negotiations Continue
Staff at City Colleges of Chicago have announced they will strike on October 19 as contract negotiations with the college system continue without agreement. The strike date puts pressure on negotiations over pay and working conditions and raises the prospect of disruption to classes across the city's community colleges if no deal is reached before then.
Why now: The announced strike date creates an imminent deadline in stalled contract talks affecting Chicago's community colleges.
