A century of student radio preserved in new archive
Original: 100 years of student radio history in the DLARC college radio collections
The Internet Archive blog highlights the DLARC college radio collections, documenting 100 years of student-run radio in the United States. The post points to recordings and materials tracing how campus stations shaped music discovery, freeform programming and student culture over the decades. Commenters welcomed the preservation effort, noting that college radio archives are often scattered, fragile and at risk of being lost as stations close or digitise.
Why now: People interested in archival preservation and radio history are responding to the release of a century-spanning college radio collection.
