The Los Angeles Chargers have unveiled a book vending machine at the Boys & Girls Club in Bell Gardens, California. The club installed photos of the machine, which dispenses books to young members rather than snacks, as part of the team's community outreach. The unusual concept has drawn attention as a creative way to encourage reading among local children.
Why now: The Chargers' charitable community initiative is a novel feel-good story that local sports and education audiences are sharing.
