Original: DCCC adds Van Drew’s South Jersey district to 2026 target list
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has added New Jersey's 2nd District, represented by Republican Jeff Van Drew, to its list of targeted seats for the 2026 House elections. The move signals that national Democrats view the South Jersey district, which Van Drew has won comfortably since switching parties in 2019, as winnable next cycle.
Why now: The DCCC's decision to target a district long considered safely Republican signals Democrats' expanding ambitions for the 2026 midterm map.
