Original: Inland Barge Grounds Stranding Cargo of Mercedes ICE cars in Düsseldorf https:// feddit.org/post/36204029
An inland barge carrying a cargo of Mercedes-Benz combustion-engine cars has run aground in Düsseldorf, leaving the vehicles stranded on the vessel. Details about the cause, extent of damage, or disruption to river traffic remain sparse, but the incident is drawing attention locally given the value of the cargo and the city's busy Rhine shipping route.
Why now: The grounding of a valuable car cargo on a major inland waterway is unusual and visually striking, prompting local sharing.
