New York City doubles grants for artists
Original: NYC doubles grants for artists
New York City is doubling its grant funding for artists, a significant boost to the city's cultural sector. The move is being welcomed by artists and arts advocates, who have long pushed for greater public support as living and working costs in the city remain high. Observers see it as a signal that city hall wants to keep creative talent in New York.
Why now: The funding increase directly affects thousands of artists and signals the city's cultural policy priorities.
