Original: Skubal gets the nod over Yamamoto for LA in NLDS Game 1 (source)
The Los Angeles Dodgers have chosen Tarik Skubal, not Yoshinobu Yamamoto, as their Game 1 starter for the National League Division Series. The decision gives the left-hander the ball in the opening game of the postseason against an opponent not specified in the report. Yamamoto, a headline pitching option for Los Angeles, will instead have to wait for his first start of the playoffs. Fans are weighing whether the choice is the right call.
Why now: The Dodgers' playoff rotation decision is a surprise pitching choice that sparks debate among baseball fans during the postseason.
