Man accused of murdering UK politician also charged over Nigel Farage plot
Original: Man accused of murdering UK politician charged with preparing terror acts against Nigel Farage
A man already accused of murdering a UK politician has now been charged with preparing terrorist acts against Nigel Farage. Prosecutors say the new charges relate to alleged planning against the Reform UK leader. The case links two of Britain's most prominent political violence scares and is likely to intensify debate over the security protections given to elected politicians.
Why now: The double charges connect the killing of a serving politician to an alleged plot against another high-profile leader, raising alarm about political violence in the UK.
